The Dad Joke Vault ("the app") is created by Dennis Monk (RoamingMonk). This policy explains how the app handles your information. The short version: the app does not collect any personal data, and everything you do in it stays on your device.
None. Dad Joke Vault does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information. There are no accounts, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. We have no servers that receive your data because the app does not send any data anywhere.
The app keeps a few things locally, on your iPhone only, so it can work the way you'd expect:
This information lives in the app's own storage on your device. It is never uploaded to us or to any third party. If you delete the app, this information is removed with it.
On supported devices, the app can generate jokes using Apple's on-device intelligence. This processing happens entirely on your iPhone. Your requests are not sent to us or to any external server for AI generation. On devices that do not support this feature, the AI option is simply hidden.
The app lets you save the jokes you've added to a small file you control, and add them back later from that file. This file is created and stored wherever you choose (for example, the Files app), and is never sent to us. You are in control of where it goes and who you share it with.
Dad Joke Vault offers optional in-app purchases (a one-time "Pro Dad" unlock and optional tips). All purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. We never see or receive your payment details, such as your credit card number. Apple's handling of purchase information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Dad Joke Vault is family-friendly and rated 4+. Because the app collects no personal information from anyone, it collects no information from children. We do not knowingly collect data from users of any age.
The app does not share data with third parties, because it does not collect data in the first place. The only third party involved is Apple, and only to process optional purchases as described above.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Because the app's privacy approach is "no data collected," we don't expect material changes.
